We got the neews through The Discerning Brute that got it through Hintmag: Gucci offers vegan shoes in its line of wellies and mocassins for men. Pretty cool, maybe the message is beginning to filter to the golgotha of fashio: vegan fashion can be cool.

Rice bags shoes
Ever wondered what a Balinese rice bag could look like on your feet? Have a look at these great pair of shoes by Everyday, made with Goni, the material used for traditional Indonesian rice bags.
Very cool, very summer, very vegan and 100% Fair Trade. They come in all sorts of colours and really cool designs. Everyday, the Los Angeles based company is a clearly vegan oriented business judging from their website statement:
“We think it’s important to make every effort to use non-destructive materials in our products. Thus far, all of our products are entirely vegan and some of our line is made from recycled materials. Moving forward, we will make all efforts to produce more and more vegan and non-destructive products as well as finding intelligent ways to communicate through fashion, science, art, music, and other mediums. We are much more than just a clothing line. We aim to be contributors to environmental progress.”
They also have a line of tops:
Envirosax: chic, inexpensive and compact, Envirosax eco-friendly shopping bags carry the message of re-use to a world ready to embrace a brighter ecological future.

BoBo Spring Collection at Burgeois Boheme
The new BoBo Spring collection is now available at Burgeois Boheme UK.
BoBo Malcom (my favorite), BoBo Paul Fango and BoBo Gerad in Beige: fresh springy looks for the stylish vegan. They come in ultralite microsoles, padded insole with soft faux leather lining (the Bobo Malcom and Bobo Gerard run a size smaler than you would normally wear). Isn’t it amazing how stylish you can be withouth hurting anyone? Go on, I know you need them, I certainly do!

Terra Plana: a step in the right direction.
Last year I asked Terra Plana why they did not have enough vegan models among their models and they promptly answered me that “they were working on it”. I took it as a standard customer response and moved on in my endless search for the perfect vegan shoes. You can imagine how pleasantly surprise I was when I saw their new Non Leather Line for men: Focus, Claudius and Newton. I like the clean, pure, slightly nerdy look design of Claudius. Go and chose yours.
£1 from the sale price of every pair sold will be donated to Greenpeace in support of their ‘Slaughtering the Amazon’ campaign. We like when good compassion design meets environmental concerns. And we need to pre-book at least one pair “asap” as they will go on sale soon and chances are they’ll be sold out pretty quickly. You’ve been warned boy!
The old equation:
VEGAN = HIPPIE
has once and for all been resolved according to:
VEGAN ⊂ STYLE, DESIGN AND TRENDY
[⊂ = belongs to]
No more lame excuse, choose Veganism.

Vegan shoes for a better world.
The idea is very simple: you buy one pair of shoes from Toms (possibly vegan) and he will provide a child in need with another pair. Simple, straight and effective way to use your purchasing power to help children in need. There is a special Vegan Line for those of you in search of their own cruelty free style. The upper part of the shoe is made of recyclabel materials like hemp and plastic bottles.
One for the funky vegan feet.

MBT in kimono black
We like the new totally vegan MBT in “kimono black”. It looks like all those emails I have sent them asking for more vegan models have worked out! It’s the shoe that Carla Sozzani turned into a contemporary icon simply by wearing them. The last time I saw her in summer 2008 at her fashion temple 10 Corso Como in Milano she was literally floating out of an Azzedine Alaïa tulle skirt wearing the ultra comfortable MBT sandals, and boys, wasn’t she the quintessence of style!
These shoes are a great investment for your feet. Be warned though, once you experience them you won’t get back to normal shoes, they are highly addictive and at €210 they are not cheap but your feet and posture will thank you for your investment. And they come with a six months guarantee.
